Local tips

  • Note that the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is closed most Mondays during autumn, winter, and spring—check the calendar before planning a Monday stop.
  • Visiting San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in spring or summer without reserving the mandatory free timed-access QR ticket online in advance.
  • Buying individual paper metro tickets instead of a €3 Barik card that cuts transit fares in half and can be tapped for up to 10 people traveling together.
